Since its foundation in 1954, Koyo Seiki has been accumulating experience and achieving results as a specialist in the manufacture of hydraulic equipment.

History

1954: Established in Edogawa-ku, Tokyo.
1957: Started to manufacture and sell hydraulic cylinders.
1960: Constructed and moved to a new head office and a plant in Funabashi City, Chiba.
1970: Constructed a plant in Akeno Town (present Chikusei City),
Ibaraki for business expansion.
1976: Closed the Funabashi Plant and integrated its operations into the Akeno Plant. Moved the head office to Katsushika-cho, Funabashi City.
1991: Constructed an additional fully-automated plating
plant for long piston rods.
2000: Started to manufacture and sell oil dampers.
2002: Installed the first 3000kN servo test machines for oil dampers.
2005: Due to the merger of municipalities, renamed the Akeno Plant to the Tsukuba Plant
2008: Constructed a plating and painting plant
for medium piston rods.
2011: Some oil dampers received the industry
certification for vibration control and ministry
certification for vibration isolation.
2013: Constructed a testing plant for oil dampers.
2014: Installed a new 3000kN servo test machine for oil dampers, one of the largest in Japan.

We insist on trustworthy quality management and are dedicated to continuously developing a team of engineers with excellent, state of the art, skills. Owning various types of testing and performance assessment equipment to ensure high quality of our products has enabled Koyo Seiki to obtain ISO9001 certification. The company is making a concerted effort to manage and improve daily operations.
We also acquired ISO14001 certification, in 2011. We are striving to reduce environmental burden and seeking to ensure high quality and reliability based on a more global perspective.

Production Facilities

Full-line of equipment helps satisfy every need of our customers

We have a full line-up of equipment that enables integrated in-house production of long, large, and special cylinders. Our large integrated machine, which is one of the largest in Japan, grinding machines for rod outer diameters, NC lathes, burnishing machines, and a plating machine of ultra-long cylinders are among the equipment used to satisfy customers’ requests. Moreover, we have developed one of the largest servo-type testing equipment in Japan, to ensure the quality of oil dampers.

Alliances with various companies in the Kawakin Holdings Group have contributed to enhance Koyo Seiki’s management base.
Particularly in the area of vibration damping and isolation, we are aggressively marketing our self-developed products such as oil dampers, which utilized joint research with Group companies.
